Maybe, but nothing you will want to stay in. Hotel Carter, nicknamed “murder hotel” in the 80s, has rates around 100/night. Hostels generally are in the 75$ range. But again you really dont want to stay in one of those. And I can assure that your mom wont want to.
Currently NYC hotels prices are low with the recession, but still you are going to be looking at atleast 150$ for anything remotley nice in the times sqaure area.
